Voice acting

It's really important to work with your voice, and I like to read monologues, to practice both cold reading and voice acting. I pick a monologue that I haven't read before and make a quick interpretation, and read it out loud. Last month I took the Jokers monologue from "The Dark Knight", and I interpreted The Joker, and read as him. Really good practice and I'm happy with the results.

Another great voice exercise is to stand straight against the wall, and try to make your neck touch the wall while you shout 1,2,3,4.. and forth- or if you have a partner you can practice a dialog with each other. This will increase the power of your voice.

You can listen to it down below!

Since this blog post is about Voice acting, I thought I'd share some pictures from when I did the  voice over for my short movie Lockerhole, which we recorded in a real studio (at my school that, I've graduated from last year). I really think voice acting is interesting, and I'd like to work more on my voice so I can improve it, and maybe start imitations and stuff. I'd really like to know many different dialects, which can be very hard to master, but that's something I'll work on and I really like a challenge!
